    I’m stressed. You’re stressed. We’re all stressed.

The stock market is nose-diving, jobs are disappearing, spouses are complaining, bosses are demanding, clocks are ticking, backs are aching, pressures are building and everyone’s gaskets are getting ready . . . to . . . blow. . .

We need to relax. But how? We could try doing nothing.

"A lot of people get caught up in trying to make things better," says McIntyre-Smith. "This is kind of the opposite. It’s about helping you just accept things as they are."

Dirgha breathing, meditation keep a freezing woman warm.

It all started on a blustery winter morning. The temperature was 26 degrees with winds at 35 mph, bringing the temperature down to about negative 5. I thought, “What better way to test out all my new mountain gear?

I continued my excursion for a few more hours and decided to head back. The day was growing colder, and I knew night fall would be venturing in soon.

I threw my crampons, ice axes and gloves in the back seat and began to warm up my vehicle for the 30-minute ride back to civilization.

To my dismay, my engine would not turn over. I tried again and again, beginning to panic…

    December 20, 2008

[Facebook] [Google] [Twitter] [Windows Live] [Yahoo!] [Email]

With the US economy slumping, the going has got very tough, but the tough are no longer shopping. They’re laughing. Not just any old laughter, but laughter yoga, a form of exercise that blends bold belly laughs and noisy “meditation” with rhythmic clapping, waddling around like a penguin or taking part in a conga line, and deep yogic breathing.
